Note:

Fit up Time/Instructions

Allow up to 1 hour labour to fit up guard.

Nylon or plastic board spacers may be needed to be made/fitted to top or bottom of anti-cavitation plate to ensure perfect fit and propeller is central to the guard’s final position.

Installation tools required – Adjustable clamps/vice grips used on skeg and anti-cavitation plate, 8mm drill bit and 12 mm socket wrench.

Please use stainless bolts supplied, and note that some model outboards will need some composite spacers, some 50 mm wide, for a perfect center alignment of the propeller in the guard. Silicone insulation is also recommended on the stainless steel bolts used through the aluminum casting.

(1)  Align the guards into fit up position using clamps and position so the Bottom skeg offers maximum surface fastening.

Propeller central alignment should allow even prop tips clearance, although not essential.

The kort nozzle design should fully enclose the propeller. The trim anode tab can be centered at this time using appropriate wrench.

If the skeg is badly worn, then aluminum tags should be welded to the skeg before installation.

(2)  Once the guard is in position, you should choose the strongest part of the cav plate, away from the edge. Common sense prevails. To choose secure positions of holes, drill 1 set of holes, top and bottom and secure with silicone coated bolts and tighten using the flat washers and nylon security nuts supplied.

At least 2 bolts should be used to secure the lower skeg section.

Remove clamps and recheck for propeller alignment within prop safe.

You are now ready to go boating.

Please note – Propeller guards should not be expected to produce better boat performance without guard installed, and should not be used in high performance speeds and maneuvers.

Again common sense prevails.
